Today, the ANCA Western Region sent a congratulatory letter to CA Governor Gavin Newsom on the occasion of his victory in the September 14 recall election.

Full text of the letter is provided below.

######

Dear Governor Newsom,

On behalf of the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region (ANCA-WR), the largest and most influential nonpartisan Armenian-American grassroots advocacy organization in the western U.S., I would like to send our heartfelt congratulations for your resounding victory in the California recall election.

We are grateful to count you as a true friend of the Armenian-American community, and again express our appreciation for your enduring commitment to engage closely with the concerns of the nearly 1 million Armenian-Americans who call California home.

Your solidarity in advancing the platform of recognition and justice for the Armenian Genocide, supporting divestment of public funds from Turkey amidst its ongoing propagation of genocide denial, the encouraging efforts to build social, economic and cultural bridges between California and Artsakh, and consistently  supporting projects of our local community such as the Armenian American Museum to showcase the integral participation of Armenians in the cultural fabric of California for over a century, all stand as a testament to your dedication to serving the Armenian-American community.

We were proud to support your campaign during the recall election – just as we were proud to endorse your gubernatorial campaign in 2018 and prior elections – and look forward to the opportunity to continue working with you and your office in advancing the priorities of the Armenian-American community.

Once again, thank you for your continued support and congratulations on your victory. We wish you every success and hope to meet with you once again in the near future.

Sincerely,

Nora Hovsepian, Esq.

Chair
