ANCA WR Arizona Advocacy Days Set For April 5-6

March 31, 2016

The Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region will host its 2016 Arizona 2016 AZ AD graphicAdvocacy Days on April 5-6 at the State Capitol in Phoenix. Expected to draw community groups, members, and activists from across the State, this two day event is designed to connect constituents with their elected officials and bring the united voice of the Armenian-American community to the Arizona Capitol.

“The Arizona Advocacy Days will serve as a unique opportunity to witness democracy in action. The goal is to both educate our legislators about issues of importance to the Armenian-American community and to energize our grassroots to return to their home communities, emboldened with greater knowledge and skill set to remain civically engaged in pursuit of our collective cause and the development of our communities,” stated ANCA WR Executive Director Elen Asatryan.  “We encourage community members of all ages from across the state to register and join us as we bring the Armenian Cause to the Arizona State Capitol,” she added.

The days’ activities will include community briefings, and meeting with state legislators.  During the meetings, participants will educate their representatives on the proud chapter in Arizona’s history that helped save the Armenian nation from annihilation during the Armenian Genocide and advocate for issues of importance to the Armenian-American community including recognition of the Armenian Genocide and recognition and self-determination of Artsakh among other matters.
