‘ANCA in Your Neighborhood’ to Visit Las Vegas on March 12

March 6, 2017

Las Vegas, NV – True to its grassroots, the Armenian National Committee America-Western Region (ANCA WR) will continue its road trip through the region, now with a stop in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On Sunday, March 12, at 1:30PM, ANCA-WR and ANCA Nevada will host the next ‘ANCA In Your Neighborhood’ Town Hall at the St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church of Las Vegas, located at 2054 E Desert Inn Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89169.

“We are excited to reconnect with our strong grassroots in Nevada to discuss both short-term and long-term goals for further empowering the Silver State’s vibrant Armenian American community,” remarked Elen Asatryan, ANCA-WR Executive Director. “Governor Sandoval’s recent cooperation with the brutal dictatorship of Azerbaijan, which entailed issuing a one-sided commemorative certificate is an unfortunate illustration of the ongoing need to educate elected officials on facts pertaining to the region and issues important to the  Armenian-American community.”

The ANCA-WR Town Hall series is an effort to reactivate and engage Armenian American communities throughout the Western United States. The meetings are led by ANCA-WR senior staff and board members, who provide attendees with an overview of the organization, its priorities on the local, state, and federal levels, and recent developments affecting Armenian-Americans, Armenia and Artsakh. During the townhalls, community members have an opportunity to ask questions, discuss local community needs, make recommendations, and learn about ways to get involved with ANCA efforts locally.

“We look forward to ANCA-WR’s upcoming visit to Las Vegas, NV,” remarked ANCA-Nevada Co-Chair Hera Armenian, Esq. “Their years of grassroots experience in the democratic process will not only help us foster our continued growth but will also ensure that our amplified voices match the strength of our commitment to the Armenian Cause; after all, there’s nothing stronger than the heart of a Hye Tahd volunteer.”

The March 12 Town Hall Meeting will be led by ANCA-WR Executive Director Elen Asatryan and Western Region board member Anahid Oshagan as well as ANCA-Nevada Co-Chairs Hera Armenian, Esq. and Lenna Hovanessian, Esq.. Further details about this and upcoming townhalls will be posted on www.ancawr.org, www.facebook.com/ANCAWesternRegion and on twitter and instagram @ANCA_WR.
