Lara Yeretsian, Esq.

Lara Yeretsian is a prominent criminal defense attorney with over twenty-five years of legal experience.  She is the principal of Yeretsian Law, a criminal defense and civil litigation firm based in Glendale, California.

Lara’s legal career includes extensive work on high-profile cases involving complex legal and media challenges. She has earned a reputation for her professionalism and formidable trial advocacy, having successfully represented clients in wide-ranging criminal cases. Additionally, Lara is a frequent legal commentator in local and national media on breaking news and has authored and published articles in Bloomberg, Daily Journal, The San Francisco Examiner, among other print media outlets.

Beyond her legal practice, Lara has a deep understanding of U.S. politics and governance. While pursuing her LL.M. in International and Comparative Law at Georgetown University Law Center, she worked with the United States House of Representatives, Committee on Commerce, Subcommittee on Telecommunications, Trade, and Consumer Protection, gaining firsthand experience in legislative processes at the federal level.

Lara has been a dedicated advocate for the Armenian-American community, having chaired the board of the Hollywood chapter of the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region (ANCA-WR) for many years, actively contributing to various Armenian civic and philanthropic initiatives. She is a longtime board member of the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry and has organized numerous fundraising events to support Armenian causes, including the annual Laughter for Life comedy night at the world-famous Comedy Store. Her work has helped strengthen Armenian-American representation and engagement across political, legal, and nonprofit sectors.

In addition to her leadership within the Armenian-American community, Lara has a deep understanding of how diverse ethnic communities navigate legal and political systems in the United States. Through her legal career and civic engagement, she has worked closely with individuals from various backgrounds, advocating for their rights and ensuring fair representation.

Her civic engagement extends to the broader Los Angeles community.  She served as Chair of the Police Permit Review Panel of the Los Angeles Police Commission, where she played a role in strengthening community relations with police while issuing and overseeing business-related permits. Additionally, she served as a board member of the Los Angeles City College Foundation, facilitating and supporting educational opportunities for students.

Lara’s extensive legal expertise, deep understanding of community dynamics, and experience in legislative affairs make her a strong advocate for the Armenian-American community at the local, state, and federal levels.
