Los Angeles, CA – The Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region (ANCA-WR) proudly announces the conclusion of its 2025 Summer Internship Program, which took place from June through August and brought together a cohort of passionate, high-achieving Armenian-American students dedicated to advancing community advocacy and public service.
This year’s cohort included 9 women and 5 men, representing a diverse and motivated group of emerging leaders. Participants came from a mix of high school graduates, undergraduates from different campuses, in different fields of education, ranging from political science to graphic design.
Though several months have passed since the program’s close, the ANCA-WR remains committed to keeping its stakeholders and supporters informed and engaged with the ongoing impact of this annual initiative – a cornerstone of the organization’s youth development work.
Through the eight-week program, interns participated in an intensive curriculum of political education, civic engagement, grassroots organizing, media production, and leadership development. They heard directly from elected officials, journalists, legal experts, community leaders, and long-time advocates, gaining firsthand insight into the tools and strategies that shape the Armenian Cause in the United States.
Interns contributed to high-value projects ranging from legislative and election research to digital media production, outreach to student organizations, voter engagement content, and community-based initiatives. Their contributions strengthened ongoing ANCA-WR campaigns, built new infrastructure for future programs, and produced resources used by chapters, advocates, and partner organizations across the Western Region.
Feedback from the interns reflected strong program outcomes. Many reported significant growth in communication, research, writing, and advocacy skills, noting that their confidence and clarity increased steadily as they advanced through their projects. Several highlighted the program as their first opportunity to apply real-world advocacy strategies and meaningfully contribute to issues affecting the Armenian community.
“The commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by this year’s intern was extraordinary,” said the ANCA-WR Board. “Their work not only strengthened the day-to-day operations of our office but reaffirmed our belief that the future of Armenian advocacy is bright. Investing in young leaders remains one of our most important responsibilities.”
Many interns have chosen to remain active with the ANCA-WR following the program – participating in advocacy efforts, volunteer initiatives, and broader community engagement opportunities. Their continued involvement underscored the internship’s long-term impact on leadership development and civic responsibility.
As the ANCA-WR prepares for the next cycle of programming, the organization extends its gratitude to all supporters, speakers, partners, and families whose encouragement makes this program possible year after year.
