ANCA-WR Internship Program

The ANCA Western Region Internship Program is a selective part-time leadership program, which introduces college students and recent college graduates to all aspects of the public affairs arena. The program provides an opportunity for student leaders and activists to gain an in-depth understanding of the American political system, Armenian-American issues and advocacy efforts on the local, state and federal levels.

Interns will gain experience in non-profit management, government affairs, community organizing and education, communication, media, research and writing, and planning and executing events. In addition to individual and joint projects, interns will participate in workshops featuring a variety of guest speakers including public officials, ANCA Western Region as well as community leadership, and specialists.

General Requirements

  • Applicants must have a high school diploma
  • Complete 18 hours per week during the Spring and Fall sessions, at least 25 hours in the Summer including some evenings and weekends
  • Have a valid driver’s license (exceptions made in special circumstances)
  • Minimum age requirement for internship program: 18 years

2024-2025 Program Schedule

Winter/Spring (2025)

  • Application Deadline: December 15, 2024
  • Program Dates: February 15 – April 25, 2025

 

Summer/Fall (2025)

  • Application Deadline: May 15, 2025
  • Program Dates: July 15- September 29, 2025

 

Requirements & Responsibilities:

The Winter 2025 ANCA-WR internship is a fluid and dynamic internship, where the interns will get a general understanding of how the ANCA-WR operates, by exploring the different departments of the office. Hence, the requirements and responsibilities for the internship are as follows:

  • Research and writing skills;
  • Ability to access media bias and cross-reference information;
  • Language: Master the English language, familiar with Armenian and other caucasian languages;
  • Public speaking (live audience or virtual);
  • Effective problem solving skills;
  • Research on community and advocacy groups and organizations across the Western United States.
