ANCA Professional Network

The Armenian National Committee of America Professional Network (ANCA-PN) is an association composed of Armenian American young professionals in the western United States with expertise in every field, including law, medicine, politics, engineering, education, computer science, art and academia.

ANCA-PN members are brought together by heritage, social responsibility and a desire to expand the civic awareness and involvement of Armenian American professionals working in both the public and private sectors. The ANCA-PN values excellence in education, professional pursuits and leadership skills. ANCA-PN members achieve excellence through integrity, empowerment, diversity and continuous improvement – the skills and attributes needed to succeed in today’s world.

In an open and inviting atmosphere, the ANCA-PN appeals to civic minded Armenian American professionals of all political persuasions who want to advance the Armenian Cause.

Christina is the Education Programming Assistant at The Genocide Education Project, where she conducts research on genocide education and organizes teacher training workshops. Holding a B.A. in Social Policy and Public Service from UC Irvine, Christina is now pursuing her Master's in Teaching and Single Subject Credentials in Social Science and Armenian at Pepperdine University. She is currently developing an innovative online e-learning program called ABC Gabig, set for beta-launch in 2024. This platform aims to impart the Armenian language, history, and culture through contemporary educational approaches, games, and enjoyable activities. Christina is passionate and dedicated to promoting education, particularly concerning genocide awareness and preserving Armenian language, history, and culture, which underscores her commitment to making a lasting impact in the field of education.

Victoria is the Assistant Director of Government and Community Relations at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). In her role, Victoria is responsible for establishing and fostering relationships with the community, local, state, and federal elected officials, the business community, external partners, and other stakeholder entities. Prior to working at CSUN, Victoria spent over four years as a Field Representative for California State Assemblymember Laura Friedman. Victoria is an immigrant from Beirut, Lebanon, with a proud Lebanese-Armenian heritage. She speaks four languages: English, Armenian, Arabic, and French. In 2016, she received her B.A. from UC Irvine in Political Science and most recently graduated from the 2022 Coro ``Women in Leadership`` cohort.

Manuel Magpapian is an attorney specializing in insurance defense and personal injury. He has been active and involved in the Armenian community all his life and has been a member of the ANCA-PN Since 2020. Manuel has been a lifelong supporter of the ANCA, including being a Leo Sarkissian intern in 2010 in Washington D.C. Manuel has interests in various topics such as politics, current events, and history. Manuel's hobbies include reading, writing, playing and watching sports, and volunteering for various causes in his community.

Alina is the Senior Manager of Programs & Operations at the UCLA Fink Center for Finance. She served as the Co-Chair of the ANCA Professional Network from 2020-2022 and currently sits on the Board as an advisory member. Throughout her career, Alina has remained committed to the advocacy and empowerment of Armenian Americans. She holds a strong passion for engaging the community to participate in public service.

Dr. Saro Babaian completed his dental education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2014. Upon graduating, he moved to central California to pursue a residency in advanced general dentistry. Shortly after, he made Los Angeles his home, and started to practice dentistry in 2015. During his early dental career, he practiced in a variety of dental settings, including treating the underserved pediatric community. Currently, Dr. Babaian practices in Hollywood and Northridge. As a general dentist, he focuses on functionally-driven esthetic dentistry with a comprehensive and conservative approach. In his free time, he loves being involved in the Armenian community, networking, building friendships, and furthering the Armenian cause. He loves watching basketball, and rooting for the LA Lakers. His hobbies include drawing, studying cryptocurrency, and shooting portrait and artistic photography.

John Michael Dorsey is a professional writer from the Bay Area. In 2021, he volunteered in Armenia with the Birthright Armenia Organization, and helped develop local villages with an NGO backed by the EU and helped start the first Armenian wine magazine there. John is also a marketing professional with experience in content creation, SEO, and marketing strategy. He currently works for The Junkluggers, where he organizes relevant content on multiple software outlets and writes original content for optimal SEO engagement to communicate necessary company goals and achievements. In addition to his marketing work, John is a Wine Writer for WineWorksAm, where he wrote the country's first regional wine guides. As a member of the ANCAPN, John is honored to be able to help not only Armenians locally and internationally but professionals from all walks of life.

Arevik Sargsyan was born and raised in Yerevan, Armenia moved to the US around 2017. In 2022, Sargsyan graduated from CSUN with her second bachelor's degree in Information Systems and Software Technology. Currently, she works as a product manager at Ria Money Transfer financial services company.

Tamar Alexanian (she/her) is a Skadden Fellow working at the Children's Law Center of California where she represents LGBTQ+ youth. Growing up as an active member of the Chicago Armenian community, Tamar was involved locally and regionally in the AYF and spent a summer working as an ANCA Leo Sarkisian intern in Washington D.C. In her free time, Tamar drinks lots of caffeine, loves checking books out from the library, and singing the Hamilton soundtrack.
