ANC-WR AND LOCAL ACTIVIST MEETS WITH LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCILMEMBER PAUL KREKORIAN

ANC-WR Government Relations Director Lerna Kayserian Shirinian, LA City Councilmember Paul Krekorian and ANC Crescenta Valley Chairwoman Romina Der Bedrossian. LOS ANGELES, CA – The Armenian National Committee – Western Region (ANC-WR) met with newly-elected Los Angeles Councilmember Paul Krekorian at his City Hall office to discuss issues of concern to the Armenian American community. The meeting was led by ANC-WR Government Relations Director Lerna Shirinian and ANC Crescenta Valley Chairwoman Romina Der Bedrossian.

“It was a great pleasure to meet with Councilmember Krekorian,” stated ANC Crescenta Valley Chairwoman Romina Der Bedrossian. “I look forward to working with his office on a variety of issues that concern our community in the Sun Valley and Tujunga regions,” she remarked.

During the meeting, Councilmember Krekorian encouraged youth to get involved in the political process and welcomed them to serve as interns in his office. Krekorian pledged work with the Armenian American community in organizing various community events and projects.

Councilmember Paul Krekorian is the first Armenian American electred to the Los Angeles City Council. He represents the 2nd Council District of Los Angeles, which stretches from Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills to Big Tujunga Road in the Verdugo Hills. It includes the communities of including the communities of Lake View Terrace, La Tuna Canyon, North Hollywood, Shadow Hills, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Sunland, Sun Valley, Tujunga, Valley Village, Valley Glen and Van Nuys. Council District 2 is home to thousands of Armenian Americans, the largest concentration of the community in the City of Los Angeles.

The Armenian National Committee – Western Region is the largest and most influential Armenian American grassroots advocacy organization in the Western United States. Working in coordination with a network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout the Western United States and affiliated organizations around the country, the ANC-WR advances the concerns of the Armenian American community on a broad range of issues.
