Town Hall: 9th Circuit & Genocide Era Insurance Claims

The Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region (ANCA-WR) and the Armenian Bar Association (ABA) are hosting a town hall meeting to explore the implications of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals’ recent ruling in Movsesian v. Victoria Versicherung AG et al. Central to the case, is the constitutionality of a California law extending the statute of limitations to bring claims regarding Armenian Genocide era insurance policies. The community briefing will be held at St. Mary’s Apostolic Church located at 500 S. Central Avenue in Glendale, California 91204, on March 30, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.

The town hall revisits a similar 2009 event featuring moderator Harut Sasounian and panelists Mark Geragos, Esq., Steve Dadaian Esq., Seto Boyadjian Esq., and representatives from the ABA. In light of the current procedural posture of the case, the same participants have been invited to further explore the implications of the 9th Circuit’s most recent ruling as well as implications looking forward to a possible en banc rehearing and/or petition to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Attorneys who attend the event will earn 2.0 hours of MCLE credit, at no cost.
